Thank you, for sharing that. I need something.

Will check on it. Interested maybe.
i saw the 2016 March prototype for the orbit. it was amazing, and i know that they were going to make some changes to the device to make it even more natural and things like that. I like it very much. It definitely doesn't feel like a machine that is on $500 mark, it feels more like a $1000 or $1500 machine. i lovee the clarity of the braille dots. and over all, to be honest, i feel that it is a better build machine than the focus blue range from FS
I think it's on back-order, so you may be waiting for quite a while to get one.
I'm a patient man. Smile.
As long as a product is what it is to be, and has a return policy, I'm good on it.
From what it says on the APH website, they haven't even started accepting orders for it yet. All they're saying is that it will be available soon, as well as the features and the price. Unless something has changed in the last week or so, which is entirely possible.
Does the latest version still sound really loud when the display refreshes? THe loud display is why I could not use one at work.
hmm. I see. I've heard of them. I've used the traditional ones but yeah, I like
them, so maybe.
I borrowed one from an NLS library. One of the cells failed after I had the thing about a month, and didn't use it all that much. A source at the library tells me many of the Orbit units shipped have been returned with the failed cell problem. @TheRomanBattleMask, it's as loud and slow as you remember. On the Orbit email list, I found a message from someone else mentioned the noise fo the display making it unsuitable for work.
I wonder if the slowness makes it unusable? I would be curious if anyone has experience with this.
Could be the issue with it have to do with the lower cost.
Some cases, you get what you pay for.
I do hope they are covering these things.
I wouldn't call it so slow that it's not usable, but my braille display experience is limited. My braille reading speed is just not that great, no matter the surface on which it is written. I hope these early bugs get quickly squashed and the company can speed up production and distribution; there are a lot of people waiting on these things.
I see it's for sale. Are they really still backordered? No wonder APH is not all that successful with tech products if that is the case.
